Aaron Jones 2.0? Texas Longhorns RB Jonathon Brooks Compared to Ex Packers Star
Former Texas Longhorns running back Jonathon Brooks is expected to be the first running back off the board in the upcoming NFL Draft.
It isn't very common for a player to suffer a major injury prior to the NFL Draft, and still not really see his draft stock take a hit.
When it comes to former Texas running back Jonathon Brooks, he isn't just any ordinary running back prospect. He has widely been viewed as the best running back prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft class, and that is a sentiment that has remained true even after suffering a torn ACL at the back end of Texas' season, in their win over TCU.
He has a unique play style, and has been drawing comparisons to a certain running back who has spent the bulk of his career in Green Bay.

The 33rd Team's NFL Draft insider Marcus Mosher recently revealed that he thinks the best comparison for Brooks' game is former Green Bay Packer, and newly acquired Minnesota Viking, Aaron Jones.
In his lone year as the starter for the Longhorns, Brooks exploded. He finished the season with 1,139 yards on 187 carries while averaging 6.1 yards per carry. He totaled 10 rushing touchdowns, with a long of 67 which came in Texas' win over No. 24 Kansas. He also showed an ability to make plays in the passing game, bringing in 25 passes for 286 yards and a score.
In ESPN's most recent NFL Mock Draft, Brooks was projected to go in the second round to the Dallas Cowboys with the No. 56 pick overall. This has been a common projection considering the Cowboys' doctor did Brooks' surgery, and also due to the fact that the Cowboys lost Tony Pollard.
