Texas Longhorns in Top 7 For Five-Star Tackle Michael Fasusi

The Texas Longhorns are off to a solid start in the 2025 recruiting cycle, coming in with the No. 11 overall class in the nation, per On3's class ranking.

Obviously, however, if the Horns are going to compete for SEC titles on a regular basis, those numbers still need to improve. One of the biggest targets in that effort is five-star Lewisville (TX) offensive tackle Michael Fasusi.

Fortunately for the Horns, as of Monday, it appears that they are in extremely good shape for the 6-foot-4 pass blocker, making the list for his top-7 finalists alongside a host of other elite programs.

The Longhorns made the list alongside the Texas A&M Aggies, Oregon Ducks, USC Trojans, Oklahoma Sooners, Georgia Bulldogs and Missouri Tigers.

Fasusi likes the Longhorns in large part due to their culture, which has undergone a major change under Steve Sarkisian in the last four years.

“Texas, man, the culture," Fasusi told 247Sports. "They’re all-in for the hard work. I think a lot of people (are) hating them. But despite the hate, they’re always going to come out on top, for real. That’s what I love about them.”

As it stands, Fasusi ranks as the No. 19 player in the nation, No. five offensive tackle and No. six player in the state of Texas, per the On3 Industry Ranking. His highest marks come from ESPN and Rivals.com, who both have him ranked as the No. 3 offensive tackle in the nation.

The Lewisville native has an official visit planned for Austin from June 21-23.

Per On3's Recruiting Prediciton Machine, Texas is seen as the favorite at 88.5 percent.
