UCLA Football: Dante Moore Ranks High Among Top 25 True Freshmen Performers

The kid is special

The UCLA Bruins entered this season with a sense of optimism, and as we reach the midway point, things look quite promising. While the offense hasn't consistently hit its stride, there's a significant source of excitement in the form of their true freshman sensation, Dante Moore.

Hailing from Detroit, Michigan, Moore arrived at UCLA as a highly-touted five-star recruit. His journey to UCLA included a de-commitment from Oregon, ultimately choosing to don the blue and gold.

Despite some recent struggles, Moore's potential is undeniable, and he's poised to be a force to be reckoned with throughout his college career and potentially beyond.

ESPN analyst Tom Luginbill has certainly taken notice of Moore's talent, ranking him third in his top 25 true freshman list. This recognition speaks volumes about Moore's impact despite his youth and inexperience.

He's played the most significant snaps, completing almost 55% of his passes. He's also been remarkably careful with the football, throwing eight touchdowns to just two interceptions.

Through the first half of the season, Moore has thrown for 1,139 yards, nine touchdowns, and four interceptions, with a QBR of 42.7. It's clear that he's still learning and adjusting to the college game, but his potential is boundless.

As with any freshman, Moore will experience his fair share of ups and downs. However, his maturity and level-headed approach to the game suggests that he's on a trajectory to become an exceptional player not only in the future but potentially even during this season. The sky is truly the limit for this promising young quarterback.
