With spring football in full swing, preseason honors are rolling in for North Carolina's star quarterback.

The Walter Camp Football Foundation named sophomore Drake Maye to its preseason All-American Second Team offense on Friday.

Maye had one of the best statistical seasons for a UNC quarterback in his first year as a starter. He finished the season as the ACC leader in passing yards (4,321), completions (342) and tied Wake Forest's Sam Hartman for the conference's most passing touchdowns (38). Leading an explosive, big-play offense, Maye powered the Tar Heels to a 9-3 regular season record and an ACC Championship game appearance.

This isn't the first time he's been recognized by the Walter Camp Football Foundation as he finished as a semifinalist for its 2022 National Player of the Year award. Other honors Maye received that season included the ACC Player of the Year and First-Team All-ACC.

Maye is expected to be amongst the top quarterbacks taken in the 2024 NFL Draft should he decide to declare.

Will Maye play his way into more postseason honors in the 2023 season?
