USC Women's Basketball: Lindsay Gottlieb Reacts to Eric Musselman's Praise of USCWBB

USC men's basketball introduced their next basketball head coach, Eric Musselman on Friday. After former head coach Andy Enfield left to take the same role at SMU, the Trojans moved quickly to hire Musselman from Arkansas.

During his introductory press conference, Musselman shouted out USC's women's basketball team, calling their success this season "incredible." Musselman added that he wants the two teams to "jump into a partnership" together to play off of each other.

The USC women's basketball team just advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight for the first time in thirty years, after also winning the Pac-12 conference championship. The team had a great season led by phenomenal freshman JuJu Watkins, and they should continue to get better as they add one of the top recruiting classes in the nation next year.

USC women's head coach Lindsay Gottlieb reacted to this plan from Musselman, with the message "let's do this." This message appears to indicate that Gottlieb and the Women of Troy are ready to welcome Musselman to USC. With the success the women's basketball program had this year, it's a good idea for the two teams to feed off each other and work together.

Meanwhile, Musselman will work to help the men's basketball team rebound after a rough 2023-2024 season. After making the NCAA March Madness Tournament for three consecutive seasons prior, USC finished with just a 15-18 record this season. Musselman will of course have to rebound without some of USC's best from last season, with Boogie Ellis, DJ Rodman, Kobe Johnson and Joshua Morgan all departing.
