USC Women's Volleyball: Elite Big Ten Transfer Joining Trojans

The Trojans pick up transfer Ally Batenhorst from volleyball powerhouse Nebraska.

After three seasons in Nebraska, Ally Batenhorst shocked the volleyball community when she announced her intent to transfer just over two weeks ago.

On Saturday morning, she tweeted that she will spend her final year of eligibility at USC. She also plans to play one season of beach volleyball with the Trojans.

The addition of Batenhorst is huge for the Trojans, who finished the 2023 season ranked No. 24 and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament. With Batenhorst in the program, USC will learn first-hand from a veteran about the stiff competition within the Big Ten.

During her three seasons with the Huskers, she helped Nebraska reach the national championship match twice.

The 6-foot-5 outside hitter had a career-high 196 kills this season and 52 blocks.

She will graduate from Nebraska in May and will play beach volleyball for the Huskers this spring.

The newest Trojan was born in Omaha but raised in Texas. She was named the Gatorade National Player of the Year and Texas Player of the Year for 2020-21. As a senior in high school, she was ranked the No. 3 overall prospect and No. 2 outside hitter by PrepVolleyball.com, as well as the No. 1 prospect in Texas.
