Utah linebacker Levani Damuni to miss significant time with leg injury

The Utah Utes were a team that struggled mightily with injuries in 2023 with over a dozen players missing significant time, and according to head coach Kyle Whittingham they have been dealt another injury.

After their Tuesday spring practice, Whittingham confirmed that senior linebacker Levani Damuni suffered a lower-leg injury during one of the previous spring practices.

We’ve had some guys miss chunks of practice here and there, and a couple of surgeries,” Whittingham told reporters. “Nothing we hope will impact fall with one exception- Levani Damuni had a lower leg injury so that is something that is going to be impactful.”

The Utes will have to turn elsewhere for now, as Damuni brought a ton of experience to the team. After transferring in from Stanford Damuni played in all 13 games, starting seven of them. He led the team in total tackles with 87 this past season.
