Virginia Baseball Rankings Roundup: UVA Moving Up After UNC Series Win

Virginia successfully bounced back from the series loss at Duke last week by going 3-1 last week, including a massive series victory over then-No. 10 North Carolina this weekend in Charlottesville. The Cavaliers erased a five-run deficit with a furious comeback to win the series opener 14-11 and then led wire-to-wire in a 7-2 victory in game 2 to clinch the series before UNC avoided the sweep with a 12-7 win in the finale on Saturday.

As a result, the Cavaliers have recovered most of the ground they lost following the Duke series loss across most of the college baseball polls. UVA is now 25-7 overall and 9-6 in ACC play, tied for third in the ACC Coastal standings.

Up next, Virginia wraps up a five-game homestand by hosting VCU on Tuesday at 6pm at Disharoon Park before heading on the road for a three-game series at Louisville this weekend.
