Everything Virginia Tech Defensive Coordinator Bud Foster Said After Hokies Record-Setting Road Shutout Over Georgia Tech

Bud Foster may be prepping for retirement at the conclusion of the season, but the Hokies' legendary defensive coordinator is putting together yet another exceptional performance.
Let's not forget just how bad Foster's unit was to start the 2019-2020 campaign. This is the same collection of players that was completely outmatched by an underwhelming Duke offense on Sept. 27.
It was clear the Virginia Tech defense showed flashes against Notre Dame, even when key starters were sidelined with injury. Foster's unit pulled off a near impossible task one week later, consistently limiting one of the most dynamic offenses in the country in a breakout performance against Wake Forest.

Sure, Georgia Tech started a raw, inexperienced quarterback and have issues on both side of the ball, but Foster was quick to point out his group didn't take the opponent lightly. The Yellow Jackets went toe-to-toe on the road against Virginia last week. They played Pittsburgh close, too.
Foster didn't back down from giving his unit praise following the 45-0 shutout on the road against Georgia Tech, the first Jackets' home shutout in more than 62 years.
