Wetherholt, Barry Named to Academic All-District List

WVU Baseball duo JJ Wetherholt and Braden Barry were tabbed by a national sports organization for their smarts.

WVU first baseman JJ Wetherholt and center fielder Braden Barry were named as College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District. The CSC All-District honor is bestowed to student-athletes who mark better than a 3.50 GPA, are in their second year at that school, and play in at least 50 percent of the team’s contests.

WVU's duo of finance-studying, baseball-playing, student-athletes carry 3.77 (Barry) and 3.90 (Wetherholt) GPAs. The two players become the eighth and ninth Academic All-District selections in Mountaineer baseball history, and this earns Barry his second consecutive honor of the kind. Academic All‐District honorees then advance to the CSC Academic All‐America ballot. First‐, second-, and third‐team Academic All‐America honorees will be announced June 7.
