Wetherholt Hits USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Home Run
JJ Wetherholt swung for the fences during today's USA Baseball Collegiate National Team tryouts.
In the first inning of today's Stars and Stripes battle, WVU second baseman JJ Wetherholt tied the game for the Stripes with a two-run home run. Allotted the DH spot in today's contest, Wetherholt came into the 3-hole with a single out. After working the count to 3-1, Wetherholt smashed a ball, from UCSB righty Matt Ager, 414 feet and out of Cary, NC's National Training Complex.
This kind of production bodes well for Wetherholt. At the conclusion of the training camp, he'll hope to see his name as one of 26 players selected to the Collegiate National Team.
