Ex-NBA Star Marques Johnson Reenacts Classic Scene From White Men Can't Jump

During his playing days, NBA great Marques Johnson was known as a five-time All-Star who was one of the best scoring big men in the late 1970s and early `80s.
After his career ended, his biggest claim to fame was starring in the cult classic 1990s movie, "White Men Can't Jump." The film also featured Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes.
Johnson played a character named "Raymond," who attempted to rob a convenience store so he could play Billy Hoyle (Harrelson) and Sidney Deane (Snipes) in a basketball game of 2-on-2.
Johnson, whose best years were with the Milwaukee Bucks, recently reenacted the scene to show he could still dunk a basketball at the age of 68. He posted the clip on X, the social media network formerly known as Twitter.
Some consider White Men Can't Jump among the greatest basketball movies in history. In the film clip, Johnson fails at the robbery attempt but trades the gun for cash so he can place the bet against Deane and Hoyle. After they lose, Johnson tells the audience he's going to get his other gun in the car so he can shoot everyone at the Los Angeles park. The movie was so popular that last year it was remade on Hulu featuring rapper Jack Harlow and included a cameo from Miami Heat star Tyler Herro.
Johnson, who played at UCLA, has spent most of his post-playing career as a broadcast analyst for the Milwaukee Bucks. Johnson also made an appearance in the movie Blue Chips, another basketball flick, alongside Nick Nolte, Shaquille O'Neal and Penny Hardaway.
