With the NCAA Basketball Men's Final Four now set, here's a look at each of the participating schools from a baseball perspective.

The 34-year-old Springer was a first-round pick out of UConn in the 2011 MLB Draft. He was selected by the Houston Astros and spent seven years with the 'Stros, helping them win the 2017 World Series. He is now in his fourth year with the Toronto Blue Jays, helping them advance to the playoffs in both 2022 and 2023. Lifetime, he's a .267 hitter with the 244 homers. Springer is a four-time All-Star and a two-time Silver Slugger.

Skowron was a 14-year-veteran of the 1950s and 1960s who played with the New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox, Washington Senators, Los Angeles Dodgers and California Angels. He was an eight-time All-Star, a five-time World Series champion and a .282 career hitter.

At 30 years old, Turner is one of the best offensive shortstops in baseball. He's a two-time All-Star, a batting champion, and a Silver Slugger who helped the Washington Nationals win the 2019 World Series title. He's a career .296 hitter who is in his second year with the Philadelphia Phillies.

Avila was a 13-year-veteran who played his last year in 2021. He spent time with the Detroit Tigers, Arizona Diamondbacks, Minnesota Twins, Washington Nationals, Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox. He was a one-time All-Star and a Silver Slugger.

The Final Four kicks off next weekend with UConn against Alabama and Purdue against NC State.
