Alex Bregman's Health Status Revealed For Astros-Braves Game

After missing the last three games with illness, Houston Astros' third baseman Alex Bregman is back in the lineup for Monday night's game against the Atlanta Braves.

After missing the last three games with illness, Houston Astros' star Alex Bregman is back in the lineup for Monday's series-opening game with the Atlanta Braves.

From Astros' Insider Michael Schwab on social media:

Astros lineup against the Braves. Arrighetti on the mound. Bregman is back

Bregman is in the No. 4 spot in the order as Jose Altuve leads off at second base. Yordan Alvarez and Kyle Tucker hit second and third. Yainer Diaz, Chas McCormick, Jeremy Pena, Jose Abreu and Mauricio Dubon round out the rest of the order.

The 30-year-old Bregman is out to a slow start this year, hitting .241 through his first 54 at-bats. He has no home runs yet and has just two RBI and a .305 on-base percentage. Despite his slow start, you have to assume that Bregman will get it going soon. One of the most productive hitters in baseball over the last several years, he's a two-time All-Star and a two-time World Series winner.

He's also won a Silver Slugger and is coming off a season in which he hit 25 homers and drove in 98 runs. In his ninth Major League season, he's a lifetime .274 hitter with 165 home runs.

This should be a good series between the Astros and Braves, and it is also a rematch of the 2021 World Series, which was won by Atlanta.

Darius Vines gets the ball for the Braves. First pitch from Minute Maid Park is set for 8:10 p.m. ET. Spencer Arrigheti pitches for Houston.
