Dave Winfield Exclusively Joins Fastball on FanNation to Talk All Things Hall of Fame

Our own Brady Farkas sits down with Baseball Hall of Famer and World Champion Dave Winfield to discuss all things Hall of Fame, from the magic of induction day, to the looming showcasing of Black Baseball this spring and the new.... Cracker Jack Museum?

This week, our own Brady Farkas from Fastball on FanNation team had an opportunity to sit down with Baseball Hall of Famer Dave Winfield.

Winfield, who spent 22 years in the big leagues with the New York Yankees, San Diego Padres, Minnesota Twins, California Angels, Cleveland Indians and Toronto Blue Jays, is one of the best players in baseball history.

He made 12 All-Star Games, won seven Gold Glove Awards, six Silver Slugger Awards and a 1992 World Series. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2001.

Winfield and Farkas discussed all things Hall of Fame, from the magic of induction day, to the pride he feels at having another Minnesota native (Joe Mauer) getting inducted to the Hall of Fame this year, to the looming showcase of Black Baseball this May, the newest Negro Leagues exhibit coming to the Hall of Fame, and a new Cracker Jack museum at the Hall of Fame.

Huh? Cracker Jack has a musuem at the Hall of Fame? As of this week it does, and Winfield was involved in the execution of the new exhibit.

More on the Cracker Jack exhibit:

"When I look back at my career, I'll always cherish the energy that fills the stadium when fans take to their feet and sing out for Cracker Jack during the seventh-inning stretch," said Dave Winfield. "As an honorary curator, it is important to make sure that the exhibit reflects how special going to a game and enjoying Cracker Jack is to baseball fans."

The one-of-a-kind exhibit follows a timeline of marquee Cracker Jack moments connected to baseball from as early as 1914 and features artifacts, including baseball cards, collectibles, signed memorabilia and even a replica of the original hand-written lyrics to "Take Me Out to the Ball Game."
