Milwaukee Brewers' Young Stud Hits First Major League Homer!
Playing against the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday, Milwaukee Brewers' top prospect Jackson Chourio connected for his first Major League home run. Watch it below.
Milwaukee Brewers' youngster Jackson Chourio hit his first Major League home run on Wednesday afternoon, connecting on a blast against the Minnesota Twins.
It came in the bottom of the fifth inning with the Brewers leading 2-1 and was taken out to deep right-center field.
Chourio, who made the Opening Day roster at the age of 20, is out to a solid start for Milwaukee, hitting more than .300 with the homer and four RBI. He's also added a stolen base.
The uber-prospect is still the No. 1 prospect in the organization and the No. 2 prospect in all of baseball and will remain in that position until he graduates from the MLB.com Top 100.
Here's a portion of his prospect profile:
In addition to dealing with the Southern League ball changes, Milwaukee coaches thought Chourio was pressing to build on his 2022 successes early on at Biloxi, and by July (when he batted .388/.447/.718 with 14 extra-base hits in 19 games), he was back to playing into his own game. That starts with a vicious right-handed swing capable of driving the ball to all fields -- nine of his 22 homers went to right -- and he has the strength in his 5-foot-11 frame to eventually post 30-homer seasons. That loud contact fuels his average, and the approach should improve with more reps against upper-level pitching in his 20s.
The Brewers entered play on Wednesday at 4-0 overall. After finishing out the series with the Twins, they'll open up a new series with the Seattle Mariners on Friday night.
