Seattle Mariners Suffer Another Injury in the Bullpen During Lopsided Loss

The Seattle Mariners lost two of three to the Milwaukee Brewers over the weekend, taking a lopsided 12-4 defeat on Sunday. In the loss, reliever Collin Snider became the latest bullpen member for Seattle to suffer an injury.

The Seattle Mariners lost to the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday afternoon, 12-4, to drop the series against the National League rivals.

The loss dropped the Mariners to 4-6 on the season and continues their early-season stretch of mediocre to poor baseball. Seattle has now lost back-to-back series after splitting the opening four-gamer with Boston.

Not only did Seattle lose the game, they also suffered another injury in the bullpen, with Collin Snider departing after being hit in the leg by a line drive.

Per Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times on social media:

Servais said Snider has a contusion on his kneecap. He is day to day. They will try to get a reliever to Toronto even as a taxi squad player to have coverage for the series.

It's good news for now that he's day-to-day, but it's the continuation of bullpen issues for Seattle, who are already without elite set-up men Matt Brash and Gregory Santos because of injuries. The hope is that both pitchers can be ready by May.

Snider is 28-years-old and in his third year in the big leagues. He debuted with the Kansas City Royals in 2022 and spent two years in KC before coming to Seattle this year.

Lifetime, he's 4-2 with a 5.93 ERA. This year, he's 0-0 with a 6.00 ERA in three games.

The Mariners open up a new series on Monday night with the Toronto Blue Jays in Toronto. It will be the Blue Jays' home opener as Jose Berrios pitches against Luis Castillo.

First pitch is 7:07 p.m. ET.
