Denver Nuggets vs. Miami Heat NBA Finals Game 4 Predictions

Heading into Game 4, Miami is going to need to make a few adjustments if they want to maintain a realistic chance of winning the NBA Finals. Game 3 showed that the Heat had no real answer for the Nuggets’ core, including Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray – both players recorded 30+ point triple-doubles, the first time a pair of teammates have ever accomplished that feat in the NBA. While Jokic and Murray aren’t going to pop off for historic stat lines every game, Miami needs to come up with an answer for them.

Jokic has been spectacular as usual, though Murray has seen his play step up at the highest level. This was a huge problem in Game 3, as double-teams on Jokic in the paint turned into wide-open three-pointer attempts for Murray. If the Heat can’t figure something out in this regard and at least contain one of the Nuggets’ two superstars, it may be a short series for Miami.

Similarly, Miami is going to need to get a solid performance out of both their stars – Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo – and their role players. In Game 3, Butler and Adebayo both surpassed 20 points, and Adebayo racked up 17 rebounds. Their performances were good enough to win; however, only one player besides those two recorded 10 or more points: Caleb Martin, who posted exactly 10. If Miami lets Denver focus on Butler and Adebayo exclusively, there’s not a whole lot they can do to counter it. They need their role players to hit their shots to have any chance of winning.

Spread Pick & Best Bets for Nuggets vs. Heat Game 4 Including Denver

With these factors in mind, our Nuggets vs. Heat spread pick is for Denver to win and cover their -3.5-point spread, cashing in on their (-110) spread odds for those tailing our Nuggets vs. Heat spread pick. The Nuggets found a game plan that works, and it seems like they’ll be sticking to it. While Miami is a talented team, we can’t recommend betting on them until they show that they have an answer to the approach Denver had in Game 3. If they can slow either Jokic or Murray in Game 4, they have a fair chance of covering the 3.5-point spread; however, it’s foolish to believe they will without seeing it happen. Take Denver -3.5, which provides much better value than the money line. Neither of Denver’s two wins this series have come by a thin margin, so giving up the points shouldn’t hurt too badly.
