BREAKING: 2 San Antonio Spurs Starters Ruled Out For Remainder Of NBA Season

The San Antonio Spurs will be without two of their best players for the remainder of the season.

On Tuesday evening, the San Antonio Spurs will face off against Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in Colorado.

Before the game (on Monday), the team announced that two of their best players have been ruled out for the remainder of the 2023-24 NBA season.

Via Shams Charania of The Athletic And Stadium: "Spurs say Devin Vassell (stress reaction in foot) and Jeremy Sochan (ankle surgery) will miss remainder of season."

Sochan was the ninth pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and finished his rookie season with averages of 11.6 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists per contest while shooting 43.8% from the field and 30.8% from the three-point range in 74 games.

Meanwhile, Vassell was the 11th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and finished his fourth season with averages of 19.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 47.2% from the field and 37.2% from the three-point range in 68 games.

The Spurs have had a tough season and will not make the 2024 NBA playoffs (or play-in tournament).

They are the 15th seed (last place in the Western Conference) with an 18-57 record in 75 games.

Over the last ten games, the Spurs have gone 4-6, and they most recently lost to Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors (at home) by a score of 117-113.

Following the Nuggets, the Spurs will play their next game on Friday evening when they visit Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans in Louisiana.
