Here's What LeBron James Said After Lakers Win Over Grizzlies In Game 4
LeBron James continues to amaze the NBA world night-in and night-out and on Monday, he and the Los Angeles Lakers picked up a massive 117-111 home overtime victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Lakers now lead this first-round playoff series 3-1 and will head back to Memphis for Game 5 and a chance to clinch the series, potentially moving on to the Western Conference Semifinals for the first time since their title in 2020, on Wednesday.
While he did not finish the game as the leading scorer, LeBron continued to make his presence felt, recording 22 points, 20 rebounds, seven assists and two blocks in 45 total minutes of play.
"That's always been me," James stated in his postgame remarks in regards to the tough plays he made down the stretch of what was a back-and-forth game. "Whatever it takes for the team to be successful, I'm just trying to be as great as I can be all the time offensively, but more importantly on the defensive-end. That was the mindset tonight and I was able to make a couple of plays to help us be successful."
His 20-20 performance was quite the sight to see, especially from a 38-year-old player, but James truly changed the momentum of this game on the defensive-end of the floor.
Both of James' blocks were huge and gave the Lakers an extra possession, but he also took two big charges, one of which was against Ja Morant late in the game.
"I'm just trying to keep my body in the best possible shape to go out there and perform and these are the moments that I love," James said when asked about his historic 20-20 performance. I love the postseason and I love being able to make plays and be out there with my teammates to give them experiences they've never had before... That's pretty cool to me."
LeBron James may be 38-years-old, but it always seems like he finds new energy once the playoffs roll around and that is certainly the case this season.
James and the Lakers will certainly be heading to Memphis for Game 5 with one thing on their minds and that is to get a win and prepare for their next playoff series.
