Now that NASCAR has left Sonoma, there's still PLENTY of racing within a short drive
THE WINE-DY ROADS OF NASCAR!
NASCAR Cup Series racers just finished racing around the 1.99-mile road course at Sonoma Raceway, in the middle of California's wine country, in front of about 50,000 fans. Congratulations are in order for Martin Truex, Jr. who clearly had the fastest car all day long!
That attendance may be slightly smaller than many NASCAR oval tracks but that doesn't mean there aren't a whole lot more people in and around the San Francisco Bay area and wine country that are fans of motorsports.
OVER 2 MILLION RACE FANS!
Within 100 miles of Sonoma, there are just over 8 million people, over the age of 18, who are active on Social Media. About 25% of them have engaged with or shown interest in some sort of motorsports content.
That's right around 2 MILLION race fans who very likely would love to see some great racing in person more than just one week a year!
