Lionel Messi's 2023 Season Stats For Inter Miami
Inter Miami captain Lionel Messi ended his first season in the United States on Saturday night.
His debut campaign in Major League Soccer ended with a defeat as Miami lost 1-0 to Charlotte at Bank of America Stadium.
This was Messi's second MLS loss, coming in his sixth game in the competition.
Miami won three of the six MLS fixtures in which Messi featured this season, drawing one.
With Messi, Miami had an MLS win percentage of 50% this season, compared to 21.43% without him.
As well as being directly involved in three MLS goals - scoring one and assisting two - Messi attempted 29 dribbles, won 13 free-kicks, fired in 20 shots and played 205 passes, including six key passes.

Messi's MLS stats may not look overly special but his form in the Leagues Cup that inspired Miami to a first ever trophy was truly phenomenal.
He ended that tournament as the top scorer after netting 10 goals in seven games.
In all competitions, Messi scored 11 goals in 14 Miami appearances, as well as converting three spot-kicks in penalty shootouts.
To put that into some context, Miami's top scorer for the entire 2023 season was Josef Martinez with 12 goals in 32 games.
Meanwhile, only two Miami players provided more assists than Messi's five this season. They were Robert Taylor with nine and Benjamin Cremaschi with six.

Messi's first season in the States was short - having joined midway through the campaign - but it was certainly very sweet.
While his wizardry was not quite enough to fire Miami to the MLS playoffs, he produced countless moments of magic and led his team to the finals of both the Leagues Cup and the U.S. Open Cup.
