Angels GM Won’t Guarantee A Playoff Berth

The Los Angeles Angels have struggled for almost a decade. They've finished below .500 for seven consecutive seasons and have finished either third or fourth in their division in the last five seasons. Even with superstars in Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout, the Halos haven't gotten over the hump.
However, this is a massive year for the Angels, and the face of the franchise in Ohtani could be gone as early as this summer. Now that all depends on how the Halos jump out the gate and if they can sustain some wins, unlike last season.
New year, new team, and the Angels are ready to compete and get into the playoffs for the first time since 2014. However, general manager Perry Minasian won't make any guarantees. LA Times writer Bill Shaikin asked Minasian if this year's Angels are a playoff team, and he wouldn't budge.
“We’ll find out,” Minasian said.
“I’ve been around too long in this game,” he said. “You never know. I’m just not a guarantee person.”
The Angels have the two best players in the world and have yet to sniff the playoffs. That certainly isn't Trout or Ohatni's fault, but rather the front office's.
However, Minasian added some pieces all over the field this offseason and believes this year will be different.
He better hope It is for his sake, the team's sake, and the fans' sake. This team can look a lot different in the coming months or by next year, and that will be determined by how they perform this season. It will be challenging for the Halos, as you have the defending champion Houston Astors in their division, followed by the up-start Seattle Mariners and the retooled Texas Rangers.
According to Draft King Sportsbook, the Halo's odds of making the playoffs are at +155, and their odds of not making it are at -190. We'll see if they can prove the doubters wrong.
