The Anthony Rendon experiment with the Los Angeles Angels has been a complete disaster. When the team signed him, they believed that he was the missing piece that could help elevate them to contender status.

After all, he had just had an incredible season with the Washington Nationals, and he helped lead them to a World Series victory. But through the first few years of his contract, things have seemed to just go from bad to worse.

It has now come out that Rendon has been dealing with a fractured tibia this year. The Angels never disclosed this for some reason, but Rendon announced it himself.

Rendon hasn’t played in more than 58 games in a season, as he has dealt with numerous injuries throughout. It has hurt the team on the field, and they haven’t been able to recover.

While all the Angels problems aren’t on Rendon, he has had major availability issues. They are paying him a ton of money, and he hasn’t lived up to the contract at all.

It has been frustrating for him as well because he likely wants to be out there with his teammates. But he has also been called out by members of the media for having a bad attitude while in recovery this season.

On the year, he is hitting .236 with two home runs and 22 runs batted in. He has been limited to just 43 games.

It isn't likely that Rendon will return to game action this season, making it another year that he finishes hurt.

The Halos have some really tough choices to make this offseason, with Rendon being one of them. This relationship is starting to get weirder as the days go on. But the Angels are on the hook for his massive salary over the next few years.
