Angels News: Halos Insider Breaks Down Options for Jo Adell's Future with Team

Despite showing his potential at the big league level this past weekend, Angels outfielder Jo Adell could find himself back in Triple-A by the start of the week.
Adell came up for the Halos in replacement of Hunter Renfroe who hit the paternity list for the weekend.
In the one game Adell played, he went 1-3 and left an impression as he hit a 451 foot home run off down the line at Angel Stadium Thursday night.
Although Adell had a strong showing in the MLB over the weekend, there isn't much room for him to stay on the roster according to The Athletic's Sam Blum.
"Any improvement for Adell is a good problem for the Angels to have. But it is a problem nonetheless. There is no spot for him on the active roster. Taylor Ward, Renfroe and Mike Trout are going nowhere. Mickey Moniak has held down the fourth outfielder spot. Plus, he provides a lefty bat. That’s why it stands to reason that Adell will be a Salt Lake Bee once again by weekend’s end."
Before playing in his first game since his call up, Angels manager Phil Kevin told Adell to do whatever to help the team win but don't do too much. Both parties knew that the outfielders time was going to be short in Los Angeles.
Adell has been called up multiple times over the past three seasons but has struggled so far. In the first 161 games he has played in the MLB, Adell has an OPS of .616 and strikes out 35% of the time.
Now that Adell is showing that he can play well in the MLB, the Angels are going to have to make decisions about his future moving forward.
"With Adell out of options next season and Renfroe a pending free agent, they could keep Adell and make him a starter in 2024. Or, the Angels could trade him. It’s a massive risk. Selling low on Adell when the potential is so high." (via The Athletic)
This isn't the last time Angels fans will be seeing Adell at Angel Stadium as he will probably be called up again if another outfielder goes down, but his time with the team could be running out.
