Angels Notes: Reid Detmers Flirts With No-Hitter As Halos End Skid, Trout Talks Recovery, Mickey Moniak Gets A Challenge and More
The Los Angeles Angels found themselves victorious on Wednesday, picking up a 2-1 win over the Texas Rangers. But the story in the midweek game quickly turned became Reid Detmers, who flirted with history on Thursday when he pitched 7 1/3 no-hit innings before surrendering an 8th inning double. It was a huge turnaround for the lefty who'd been struggling mightily before this latest outing.
In other news, centerfielder Mike Trout talked about his recovery process from a broken hamate bone. Also, Angels manager Phil Nevin challenged Mickey Moniak -- Trout's temporary replacement in center -- as the young outfielder has been struggling of late after an excellent start to his season. There's a lot more Angels news, and you can read about all of that and more below!
