Dodgers News: Dave Roberts is Viewing the Next Few Games with an Eye on Potential Postseason Matchups

Some potential playoff matchups this week for LA..

No matter who the Dodgers play, it’s a different set of challenges. On any given day, a team can take them down, and that’s the beauty of sports.

It doesn’t matter if they are a last-place team or a division winner because LA needs to approach each game with the same mindset.

LA currently is playing two potential playoff opponents in the Milwaukee Brewers and the Miami Marlins. Manager Dave Roberts doesn’t seem to look at them as measuring sticks, however.

"I don't see [the Brewers or Marlins] as a measuring stick for us. I always try to measure ourself against ourself, regardless of opponent."

Per SportsNet LA

This seems like a great approach to take because if the Dodgers are playing well, then they can take down any team. They shouldn’t be worrying about any team other than themselves.

They were a juggernaut last year in the regular season, only to be bounced in the NLDS. So as long as LA takes care of its own business, it should be in good shape.

Of course, it’s only natural to look at certain games with a little more focus. Playing against teams that you may see come playoff time does give squads a chance to scout a little bit. Despite not measuring LA against other teams, Roberts did note this.

"To keep mental notes and watch tendencies is fair because it could be a potential opponent, we're definitely mindful of that."

Per SportsNet LA

The Dodgers took the first game against the Brewers and now continue the three-game series. Miami then comes to town before LA heads out on a road trip.

It's a good test for them right now, as they are playing some of the best baseball of their season.
