Less than ideal news out of the World Baseball Classic as Dodgers All-Star first baseman Freddie Freeman was forced to leave Team Canada's match early after appearing to run gingerly in the 3rd inning.

The early report is he suffered a slight hamstring issue.

Hopefully the issue was caught early enough and it doesn't affect his season with the Dodgers in any way. In a best case scenario, Freddie just needs to drink a little more water in Arizona.

Freeman has been away from spring training with the Dodgers while participating in the WBC for Team Canada. He has just 2 hits in the tournament so far. He joined the Canadian squad as a way to remember and represent his mother who passed away when he was a kid.

The Dodgers released a moving conversation with Freeman on the subject.

More to come on this news.

UPDATE

Freeman is expected to miss Team Canada's next contest.
