Dodgers News: Miguel Rojas Maintaining Focus Through Tough Stretch of Games for LA

The rain wouldn't go away in D.C.

The Dodgers sat through three consecutive rain delays in their series against the Washington Nationals in D.C. After a six-day stint on the East Coast, the Dodgers are finally headed back to Southern California.

"It's been a tough couple weeks the last couple, for sure — with the schedule and times that we've played the games and long travels to the East Coast," said Miguel Rojas.

Rojas went 4-for-5 with an RBI Sunday in perhaps his best performance of the season. As the Dodgers have lost six of their last 10 games, Rojas said that their primary focus was locking down their lead in the NL West.

“We have a job to get done which is clinch the division here in a couple days hopefully. That’s our goal right now," Rojas said. "If you feel tired or you feel uncomfortable or whatever it is, we have to get it done and that’s the only thing we have on our mind right now.”

With the news of Julio Urias' arrest over suspicions of domestic violence coming at the beginning of the Dodgers' road trip, it has been an eventful few weeks for LA. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said the team was looking forward to getting back to the west coast.

“Certainly the conditions weren’t ideal. Things that we couldn’t control,” Roberts said. “But just to kind of remain focused on game times and when we were called to play, just go out there and play, perform. I think everyone did their jobs. I think right now we're just all emotionally, physically spent and happy to come away with what we did on this road trip and get home and get back to some good weather."

As the Dodgers currently lead the NL West by 13 games with 20 games remaining, they have all but locked up the top spot in the division. With the playoffs just around the corner, the Dodgers can focus on staying healthy as they seek to win their second World Series title in three years.
