Dodgers News: Royals Starter Scratched for Friday’s Game, Prospect to Make MLB Debut

We have an interesting battle Friday night in Kansas City as Dodgers Rookie, Bobby Miller takes on Royals prospect, Alec Marsh. This matchup against the Dodgers will mark Marsh's first start in the Majors.
This decision comes after the Royals scratched pitcher, Jordan Lyles, from the team sheet as he is experiencing some sort of illness, giving the minor leaguer the opportunity to make his MLB debut.
For his first opponent, Marsh will take on Dodgers rookie starlet, Bobby Miller, a right-hander who had an intriguing debut himself earlier this year.
Currently at a 4.13 ERA in four starts, Miller currently holds a 3-1 win-loss record when he is on the mound for the Dodgers, setting up an intriguing battle against Alec Marsh, who has spent majority of the year with Royals Triple-A affiliate, the Omaha Storm Chasers.
Marsh hasn't had the best season in the minors, pitching a 4.62 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 75:31 K:BB in 62.1 innings (14 starts) this season.
But with the Royals in last place of the AL Central, anything seems to be better than nothing for them.
Marsh's debut date was imminent, as he was drafted by the Royals from Arizona State in 2019. The anticipation grew when his contract was selected by the Royals during the offseason, last November.
The Dodgers don't have much of a report on Marsh, which could be seen as an advantage for the Royals.
Nonetheless, the momentum is favored towards LA as they're by far the better team with one of baseball's best lineups.
A win against the Royals can give the Dodgers great momentum towards a very busy July, where they will welcome back pitcher, Julio Urias, on Saturday.
