The Dodgers have been tied to many starting pitchers that have been shopped this deadline. While already making a move for two pitchers in former White Sox arms, Lance Lynn and Joe Kelly, the Dodgers are still rumored to look for another rotation piece before the deadline in less than three hours.

A team that had two starters available was the Detroit Tigers, Eduardo Rodriguez and Michael Lorenzen.

While the former is still on the Tigers roster, the later has been dealt to a different NL contender, the Philadelphia Phillies.

While Michael Lorenzen may not be the flashiest name of all the trades that have happened today, the Phillies are getting a pitcher that has already tossed over 100 innings and owns a 3.58 ERA in 18 starts.

Lorenzen made his first career All-Star appearance this year with his now-old club in Detroit. The 31-year-old pitcher signed a one-year, $8.5 million deal with the club in the offseason and put up good numbers as a starter again.

Lorenzen now joins the Phillies as they look to hold on to their Wild Card spot heading into the back end of the season.

The Dodgers are now running out of options and may be forced to pay a hefty price to get some of the top options still available.

With the trade deadline around two hours away, some moves are needed to be made for the Dodgers ball club if they want to keep up with the other NL contenders that have been quite active, including NL West rivals, the Giants, and Diamondbacks.
