Dodgers Rumors: Writer Predicts Bobby Miller Becomes ‘Multiple-Time All-Star’ in Career
The Dodgers have had a look at its future on the mound this season as they've called up multiple rookies to toe the rubber.
None of the rookies though have had a stronger start to their MLB career and one writer doesn't think its beginners luck.
Bobby Miller has been stellar in his first couple of starts in the major leagues. In 75.1 innings he has a 7-2 record, a 3.70 ERA and 8.4 K/9.
Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller thinks this is just the beginning of an All-Star career for Bobby.
Miller thinks that for pitch repertoire for the rookie is elite and only going to get better.
"Miller recently started working the occasional sweeper into what is now a six-pitch repertoire, which is categorically unfair. He already has both a four-seamer that has hit triple digits and a sinker which has come mighty close to 100 MPH. He shouldn't also be allowed to throw four breaking/off-speed pitches. But he does, and the 24-year-old should be a multiple-time All-Star if he can stay healthy." (Via Bleacher Report)
In a season full of struggles on the mound, Miller has been a fresh breath of air for the Dodgers whenever he starts. Over his past 14 starts, Miller has put in a quality start six times.
With Julio Urias as an impending free agent and Clayton Kershaw getting up in age and no one knowing how Walker Buehler will be when he comes back from injury, the ace role in the Dodgers rotation is up for grabs.
As of right now, Miller could be the leading candidate for that role.
