Former Dodger, Current Free Agent Justin Turner Reacts to Shohei Ohtani Contract

The former Dodger champion weighs in on the news of the day

Your Los Angeles Dodgers will dominate the news cycle for the rest of the day — and probably a little longer.

Shohei Ohtani is a Dodger. That is official as of December 9th, and it is a day that will go down in Dodger history.

The Dodgers are winners of the offseason, and they have everyone reacting to this earth-shattering news, including former LA World Series champion Justin Turner. Here's what the former All-Star and current free agent had to say about Ohtani signing a $700 million contract.

The Dodger legend clearly sees the money being shelled out for two-way players, and wants to get in on the action.

After the 2022 season, the Dodgers declined his $16 million option for the 2023 season and made him a free agent. The Boston Red Sox signed him last winter, and after one season that included a player option, Turner decided to test free agency again.

Under his tweet, many Dodger fans were persuading the 39-year-old to come back home.

Turner is still productive regardless of his age, and he showed that in 2023, hitting .276 with 23 home runs, and 96 RBIs in 558 at-bats with Boston.

While it would always be fun to see him back in Los Angeles, there's no room for him in the lineup with Ohtani at full-time DH.
