Dodgers' Reliever Unclaimed on Waivers, Heads to Triple-A
The Los Angeles Dodgers are off to a great start this season but one area of weakness so far has been their bullpen. The team has plenty of arms to help turn things around but they outrighted one veteran right-hander earlier this week and designated another for assignment Saturday.
At least one of the two is staying in the organization: Nabil Crismatt, who was designated for assignment on Monday and went unclaimed on waivers. He will now be headed to Triple-A Oklahoma City but could return to Los Angeles at some point later in the year.
Crismatt pitched two clean innings in his Dodgers debut Sunday and is a candidate to return to the majors ifthe team needs to add depth to its bullpen.
The right-hander has struck out three batters over the two innings he has pitched for the Dodgers this season, showing his potential value to the team. He will likely be called back up to the majors if he can continue to perform well in Triple-A.
Last season, Crismatt split time between both the San Diego Padres and Arizona Diamondbacks. He posted a combined ERA of 8.31 between the two teams over 13 innings of work.
Crismatt holds a career ERA of 3.72 over 172 innings of work throughout his career.
