The San Diego Padres have long been a struggling team in the MLB. However, in recent years, the front office has decided to change things up. They've gone all-in over the last few seasons, trying to put together a team that can not only compete for a World Series, but win it. And it's safe to say the fans appreciate that investment the ownership has made.

The Padres held their FanFest over the weekend, and had quite the impressive turnout. Danny Vietti, a social media manager for CBS Sports, demonstrated the impressive contrasts in turnout between the team's FanFest in 2015 versus 2023.

Padres fans swarmed into Petco Park, as excitement has been building for this season ever since the team was ousted in last year's NLCS. However, the team got the confidence they needed by beating the 111-win Dodgers in the NLDS, and got an even bigger jolt when their front office signed four-time All-Star Xander Bogaerts to an 11-year, $280 million deal.

Padres owner Peter Seidler offered over $1 billion to three players this offseason — Aaron Judge, Trea Turner and Bogaerts — and finally got one to bite. He joins a lineup that was already going to get Fernando Tatis Jr. back, proving to the team that he'll do whatever it takes to win. There's a lot to be excited about in San Diego — and clearly, the fans are taking notice.
