Latest Update on Phillies Long-Time Target Mike Trout is Promising

Long-time Philadelphia Phillies target could eventually get frustrated and ask to be traded.

The Philadelphia Phillies fan base has always dreamed of bringing Mike Trout home. During most of his career, it seemed like there wasn't a possibility of that happening, but that could be changing.

With Shohei Ohtani leaving in free agency, the Los Angeles Angels might be even worse than they've been in years past. To put it lightly, this team doesn't have a chance of competing for a World Series.

Trout, 32 years old, has dealt with his fair share of injuries throughout the past few seasons. It's been an unfortunate time for arguably the greatest player the game has ever seen.

Given his age and injury history, one would think that Trout wants to give himself a chance to win in the back end of his career, something the Phillies can offer him.

Ken Rosenthal spoke on Foul Territory about the star's future with the Angels.

"At what point does Mike Trout say enough of this?"

Rosenthal acknowledges that Trout hasn't hit that limit, but mostly every player does at some point.

"I would suggest that every play has a limit."

When healthy, the three-time MVP is still a top player in Major League Baseball. Trout played in 82 games last season, slashing .263/.367/.490 with 18 home runs.

He's often seen in Philadelphia checking out other professional sports games, leaving the city hopeful that one day, he'll ask to be traded home.

This is the perfect time for it to happen as the Phillies have a chance to win it all and adding a player of his caliber can put them over the top.

Los Angeles doesn't seem to have a chance to compete in the near future and while the city has its perks, he can come home and possibly finish his career with a ring.
