Philadelphia About to Use Absurd Amount of Lubricant on Light Poles Ahead of NLCS Game 7
The Philadelphia Phillies have the opportunity to clinch their spot in the 2023 World Series on Tuesday evening.
In their first Game 7 in franchise history, and the most pivotal game of the year, the Phillies will have to overcome the Arizona Diamondbacks, a team they led 2-0 in the series before allowing them back in it.
Whoever wins Tuesday's matchup will face the Texas Rangers in the World Series. The Rangers are making their first appearance in the World Series since 2011.
However, all eyes will be on the City of Philadelphia if the Phillies do advance. The Philly Phaithful are notoriously passionate. And acrobatic, especially when it comes to climbing light poles in celebration.
That being said, the City had a great idea - grease the light poles.
This has been in practice for years, but where does the lubricant come from?
Well, this year CamSoda is sending 28 drums of lubricant. Each drum will hold 55 gallons of, or a total of 1,540 gallons of lubricant will be sent by the adult entertainment company.
That's a ton of grease, but there are also a ton of light poles down Broad.
For the Phillies, it's win or stay home.
Ranger Suarez will get the ball for Philadelphia and will face off against Brandon Pfaadt of the Diamondbacks.
First pitch is scheduled for 8:07 p.m. ET.
