Say what you will about the Detroit Tigers, but they always find ways to make history. The 119-year-old franchise currently clutches the longest active losing streak in the MLB, with 20 consecutive L's against the Cleveland Indians.

The Tribe has outscored Detroit 107 to 32 since the Tigers' last win in April of 2019. The second-longest streak belongs to the Orioles with 18 games tucked away in the pockets of the Yanks.

After surviving last year's 47-114 record, Tigers fans ask themselves, could this get any worse?

Unfortunately, the answer is yes. If Cleveland sweeps the Tigers in their next series, starting August 21st, the Indians will tie the MLB record for most consecutive wins against a single franchise. This feat currently belongs to the Orioles, with 23 straight wins against the Kansas City Royals.

Do you ever wish we could take it back to the good old days? Maybe 2006, when the Detroit Tigers were 13-6 against Cleveland, and even more importantly, made it to the playoffs? I sure do.

Even though the squad is not consistently producing at the plate against Cleveland, there are bright spots in the lineup. One of them, being Detroit's sweetheart Miguel Cabrera.

Heading into the game 1 for 19, the Tiger shook off his funk during his second at-bat by hitting a two-run single to centerfield in the third. Those 2 RBI's make for 1,704 RBI's total in Miggy's career, tying him for 25th in MLB History with Frank Thomas.

Cabrera knocked in another RBI in his next at-bat and now sits 2 RBI's away from 24th overall.

The Tigers are now on a six-game losing streak. Hopefully, with new additions like RHP Casey Mize, LHP Tarik Skubal, and 3B Isaac Paredes, this franchise will add much-needed oomph to the lineup and pitching rotation.
