Astros Fire Assistant GM Brandon Taubman, But Team Can Go Further

Houston Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow said the franchise was wrong in its statement defending now-fired assistant GM Brandon Taubman’s clubhouse outburst. That statement accused SI reporter Stephanie Apstein of fabricating a story she reported Monday that Taubman shouted at three female reporters. While Taubman ultimately lost his job, Luhnow hasn’t yet reached out to Apstein directly even though she was present at his press conference. SI’s Amy Campbell says that if the Astros put as much thought in human interaction as their roster construction, we’d be having a another conversation altogether.
