Salary cap advice: Dolphins, Jets a cheap source of points in Week 8

Here is a position-by-position look at some of the best bargains entering Week 8, with prices based on current FanDuel 10-team leagues. If you're looking for a salary cap challenge, test your skills by going head-to-head with SI's Peter King in the Peter King Fantasy Challenge.

• Quarterbacks: This week, salary cap challenges afford some great values under center. One of the best is Big Ben Roethlisberger, who is coming off a solid if unspectacular game against Cincinnati but should have a field day against a Redskins team allowing 340.4 passing yards per game. Eli Manning is also poised for a big day, as he faces a depleted Cowboys defense and finally has a deep and healthy receiving corps at his disposal. Those looking for a bargain should take a chance on Brandon Weeden, who has thrown at least two touchdowns in three consecutive games and lines up at home against San Diego's 25th ranked passing defense.

• Running backs: The Jets have struggled against the run, so the Dolphins will look to get the ball in the hands of their best offensive player, Reggie Bush, as much as possible coming off a bye. The Saints also can't stop the run, which is great news for Willis McGahee, who has a chance to log his third 100-yard game of the season for Denver. For the more cost conscious, there are two major budget savers this week: Dallas' Phillip Tanner, who depending on Felix Jones' status could get the bulk of the carries against a Giants defense allowing more than 150 rushing yards per game over the past four weeks, and Cleveland's Montario Hardesty, who figures to fill in for Trent Richardson if the first-rounder's ribs limit him against the Chargers.

• Wide receivers: As usual there are countless options at receiver, but Denver's Eric Decker may be the best this week. He should post Wes Welker-like receptions against the struggling Saints. Also in prime position: Antonio Brown, who has outshined Mike Wallace as the Steelers' top receiver and will continue to perform against the aforementioned hapless Redskins pass defense. For a real bargain, stay with that game and pluck slot receiver extraordinaire Santana Moss from the cut-rate rack. He'll become Robert Griffin III's only reliable option with injuries ending Fred Davis' season and keeping Pierre Garcon off the field.

• Tight end: Shell out big bucks for the resurgent Rob Gronkowski, who brings "Gronking" to London Sunday against the Rams. For cheaper options, look to the Pro Bowl-bound Heath Miller and both of the tight ends in the Jets-Dolphins game. Dustin Keller returned from a hamstring injury with a strong performance in Foxboro last week, earning Mark Sanchez's attention with seven catches on seven targets, while Anthony Fasano is Miami's leading touchdown catcher.

• Kickers: For kickers, the best of the bottom includes Kansas City's Ryan Succop against the archrival Raiders, who have surrendered and average of 2.5 field goals per contest and the third most kicking points in the league. Also eye Steven Hauschka, whose Seahawks face a Lions defense surrendering an average of 10 kicking points per game.

• Defense: It's hard to find a better defense than the Packers this week. The league leaders in sacks will face either Blaine Gabbert, the league's 28th-rated passer, or injury replacement Chad Henne, who hasn't played in a winning game since December 12, 2010.
