Scottie Barnes’ Injury Status for Sixers vs. Raptors Revealed
The Toronto Raptors will miss Scottie Barnes for their final outing against the Philadelphia 76ers this season.
In the battle between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night, neither team will get a look at their opponent’s full squad.
The game will certainly lack some star power on both sides. For the Toronto Raptors, they haven’t had the services of their former Rookie of the Year winner, Scottie Barnes, for quite some time. Nothing about that will change on Sunday.
Earlier this month, Barnes suffered a hand injury in the Raptors’ March 1 matchup against the Golden State Warriors. At the time, the young veteran checked in for a little under 16 minutes. While he was productive during his shift, scoring ten points while collecting six rebounds and dishing out three assists, Barnes’ early exit left the Raptors without a shot to take down the Warriors. Toronto suffered a 15-point loss.
Barnes was later diagnosed with a left hand fracture. At that point, his season was in jeopardy as it was clear there likely wasn’t enough time to make a full recovery before the 2023-2024 NBA season ended.
Leading up to Sunday’s game, Barnes has missed 13 games in a row for the Raptors.

Once again, Barnes was proving to be a rising star for Toronto this season. In 60 games, he averaged 20 points, eight rebounds, and six assists while draining 48 percent of his shots from the field. The former fourth-overall pick was selected for the 2024 NBA All-Star game, offering the young veteran his first nod.
Unfortunately, Barnes’ third season ended prematurely. While he’s expected to offer the Sixers plenty of challenges for years to come, the Raptors will not have him available for this weekend’s game.
