Having this top-tier matchup twice in one week truly is special, so let’s take a look at how these teams have gotten off to such strong starts. At first glance, the immediate answer is that both offenses have been playing at an elite level.

Boston and Philly are both in the top five in terms of points per game, which is why this featured ESPN matchup has a total (over/under) listed a bit higher than we expected. We also don’t need to look far for support. Despite these teams being among the highest-scoring in the NBA, they always seem to turn up the defensive effort for these high-profile matchups. Therefore, it’s no surprise that there were just 209 points scored in last week’s game.
