The NBA regular season is underway, and the Boston Celtics have shown why they’re one of the favorites to win the NBA Championship. Boston is 2-0 to start the season and now travels to Washington D.C. for a Monday night game against the Wizards, who are 1-1 to start the year. We nailed our Celtics vs. Heat best bet by the hook, which came after winning our Celtics vs. Knicks pick, so I’m going to try and make it three in a row with my Celtics vs. Wizards prediction tonight.

Boston Celtics vs. Washington Wizards Prediction & Best Bets for Today

Tonight's game features a significant disparity in talent as the undefeated Boston Celtics make their way to the Capital One Arena to face off against the Washington Wizards. Previously, New York and Miami proved no match for the Celtics. However, it's intriguing that oddsmakers are now heavily favoring the Celtics by a double-digit margin in their clash with Kristaps Porzingis' former team.

The Wizards, on the other hand, experienced a disheartening blowout at the hands of Indiana in their season opener, surrendering a staggering 143 points. They swiftly bounced back with a seven-point triumph against the depleted Grizzlies. Jordan Poole spearheaded their resurgence with a 27-point performance, although he must enhance his efficiency after shooting only 36% from the field and a mere 22% from beyond the arc in those contests.

Boston has been dominant in recent meetings, securing victories by an average margin of 22 points in their last four encounters. The current state of the Wizards' defense does little to inspire faith, so my pick leans towards Boston, but the Wizards have been strong ATS at home, as they're 5-2 in their last seven games at the Capital One Center. Therefore, I'll back Boston's money line in a Same Game Parlay instead.

My main Celtics vs. Wizards prediction is a SGP featuring the Celtics ML, Jayson Tatum O1.5 Three Pointers Made and Kristaps Porzingis O6.5 Rebounds (-110 at DraftKings). Tatum has three three pointers made in the Celtics' first two games, while Porzinigis has pulled down eight and nine rebounds thus far.

The Wizards are giving up the eight-most three per game, and starting center Daniel Gafford is currently a game-time-decision. Washington lacks the depth to match up with Porzingis, and they have no defenders that should be able to slow down Tatum. Therefore, I expect both players to post a strong statline, so I'll add these two Celtics vs. Wizards player props to Boston's money line to get my SGP to -110 odds at DraftKings.

Celtics vs. Wizards Player Prop Picks for 10/30: Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis

Celtics vs. Wizards Player Props: Jaylen Brown O1.5 Three-Pointers Made (-130 at DraftKings)

For Boston to secure the victory in this matchup, it's imperative that they deliver a solid offensive performance, and one of the key figures in this endeavor should be Jaylen Brown, the dynamic second-option player with a super-max contract. Brown's performances this season have been marked by both struggles and successes, yet one constant has been Boston's concerted effort to get the ball into his hands.

In the season opener, he encountered a tough outing, going 0-for-4 from beyond the three-point line. However, in the following game, he found his rhythm, connecting on 3-of-7 three-point attempts. It's highly likely that today, he will once again be featured prominently in the offensive scheme.

The Washington Wizards' defense has struggled to defend against small forwards, ranking second in the league for allowing made threes per game in this position category. Furthermore, they sit fifth in the league for conceding made threes per game overall. With these considerations in mind, I anticipate Brown sinking at least two three-pointers in this game, so I'll back Jaylen Brown O1.5 Three Pointers Made (-135 at DraftKings).

Celtics vs. Wizards Player Props: Kristaps Porzingis O8.5 Rebounds (-115 at DraftKings)

Additionally, I’ll be targeting Kristaps Porzingis O8.5 Rebounds (-115 at DraftKings) tonight as the final one of my Celtics vs. Wizards player props. I already touched on this above, but the Latvian has eight and nine rebounds through two games, and the Wizards will likely struggle to slow down the big man on the boards. Their starting center is dealing with an ankle injury, and their backup big men include Mike Muscala and Danil Gallinari.

Latest Celtics vs. Wizards Odds, Spread & Betting Lines for 10/30 Powered by DraftKings

Before making my Celtics vs. Wizards prediction, I reviewed the latest odds at DraftKings Sportsbook for tonight’s game, which you can see here:

  • Point Spread: Celtics -10 (-115) vs. Wizards +10 (-105)
  • Money Line: Celtics (-485) vs. Wizards (+370)
  • Game Total (Over/Under): Over 229 (-112) vs. Under 229 (-108)

A $115 bet on Boston -10 (-115 at DraftKings) profits $100 if they win by 11 points or more, while a $105 wager on Washington +10 (-105 at DraftKings) returns $100 of winnings if they pull off the upset or lose by fewer than 10. If the Celtics win by 10 points exactly, both sides of the point spread push, and all wagers are refunded.

Celtics vs. Wizards Lineups for Tonight

The Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards will likely go with the same starting lineups they put out for the first two games of the season. Here they are:

Boston Celtics Projected Starting Lineup

  • Derrick White
  • Jrue Holiday
  • Jaylen Brown
  • Jayson Tatum
  • Kristaps Porzingis

Washington Wizards Projected Starting Lineup

  • Tyus Jones
  • Jordan Poole
  • Deni Avdija
  • Kyle Kuzma
  • Daniel Gafford

Based on the Celtics vs. Wizards lineups, I see the Celtics winning big tonight, as Washington will have an extremely difficult time slowing down Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. That’s why you should back the Celtics ML (-485 at DraftKings) for just $5, knowing that you’ll receive $200 worth of bonus bets no matter what.
