Jaylen Brown Interested in Joining 2025 Slam Dunk Contest

On Saturday, Jaylen Brown got defeated in the final round of the NBA’s Slam Dunk Contest by Mac McClung. Brown was the first All-Star to compete in the event since 2017.

Brown’s highest scored dunk of the night, 49.2, was a tribute to Indiana native Michael Jackson. Wearing a sparkly glove, the 27-year-old dunked over Donovan Mitchell with his left hand.

For McClung’s final dunk, needing a score of 49.1 to win the contest, the 6-foot-2 guard jumped over Shaquille O’Neal. It scored a perfect 50, which made the Osceola Magic guard victorious over Brown.

Per Jared Weiss of The Athletic, Brown is open to competing in the 2025 NBA Slam Dunk Contest.

“If they ask me and nobody else cares to do it, [expletive] it, I’ll do it again," the three-time All-Star stated ahead of the Celtics' game against the Chicago Bulls Thursday night in the Windy City.

The next NBA All-Star Weekend will take place in the San Francisco Bay Area. The 74th annual All-Star Game is scheduled for February 16, 2025, at Chase Center.
