Jayson Tatum Says This Year's Celtics are Most Talented, Selfless Team He's Played On

At 35-10, the Boston Celtics currently hold the best record in the NBA. Their starting unit, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis, Derrick White, and Jrue Holiday, each finished within the top 10 of their respective categories in NBA All-Star voting.
In an interview with Marc J. Spears of Andscape, Tatum called the current Celtics the most talented team that he’s been part of.
“It is the most talented team I’ve been on by far. It’s the most selfless team. And not to say that other teams I have been on weren’t as talented or were selfish, but just the talent level that we have one through five and where we’re at in our career. We got Jrue [Holiday], who’s been a champion before. We got guys that’s made All-Star games, JB [Jaylen Brown] made All-NBA. I’ve been All-NBA first team a couple years in a row, guys have gotten paid and we are all just really just doing whatever it takes on a nightly basis to win.”
Tatum also emphasized that sacrifice has been vital to this team maximizing having what's widely considered the most talented top six, with Al Horford delivering impactful two-way play off the bench while staying ready to slide into the starting lineup if someone's unavailable.
“And we’re all sacrificing. We don’t average as much as we did the year before. Nobody’s having career-high numbers, but we’re all sharing the wealth, everybody’s eating and we’re winning and we are having fun doing it.”
This week, Tatum was selected for a starting spot in the 2024 NBA All-Star Game. On February 1, the full list of All-Stars will be revealed.
