Memphis Grizzlies Give Update to Injured Stars
The Memphis Grizzlies have been in dire need of backup. Without Ja Morant, the team has been battered by injuries and it looks like they finally may be getting some stars back soon.
According to a new report by Jonah Dylan from the Memphis Commercial Appeal, Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins said that the team will have an update on Desmond Bane and Marcus Smart in "the next day or so."
Another player that may be returning soon is Brandon Clarke, who suffered a torn Achilles last season. Clarke had teased a return around the All-Star weekend, and it looks like that timeline is still on track.
"I think there'll be more of a formal update, probably in the next day or so, on Des and Marcus," Jenkins said to Jonah Dylan. "BC is on a good pathway, hopeful that he'll return before the end of the season, but no exact timeline. His workouts have progressed pretty well, hoping to do some more live stuff with limited contact. Hopefully, in the next couple of weeks, we'll have a little bit more of a ramp-up for him."
Aside from those three stars, there's even more help on the way for the Grizzlies in the form of Jake LaRavia - who has been missing since January 13.
"He should be available tomorrow," Jenkins said to Dylan. "He was a full participant in practice, looked good. We'll talk about the minutes and all that stuff, but he should be a full go tomorrow."
After dealing with a barrage of injuries, the Grizzlies are now 8.5 games away from a play-in spot. They'll likely not make the play-in tournament, but getting injured guys back is never a bad thing.
