Memphis Grizzlies Player Receives Unexpected Suspension

This suspension went very under the radar.

GG Jackson shocked the NBA world when he signed a four-year contract with the Memphis Grizzlies as the youngest player in the league at 19 years old. His improved play was rewarded in the best way possible, but it seems like he's had some off-the-court issues that may be plaguing him.

It was revealed by Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins that GG Jackson was inactive against the New Orleans Pelicans for violating a team rule. It seems as though the suspension may only be one game though, as he's not listed as unavailable against the Houston Rockets tomorrow.

One intriguing thing to note is that last week, Jackson revealed himself that he'd been fined by the Grizzlies four times in the last two months. He even had a meeting with Grizzlies GM Zach Kleiman about the violations.

"Earlier in the year, I had a meeting with Zach [Kleiman] because I had gotten fined, I think like my fourth one in two months," Jackson said last week. "Oh yes, it was bad. He gave me the rundown and everything. Since then, I've been on my P's and Q's. I feel like those off-the-court things also translate to on-the-court performance."

It remains to be seen what the one-game suspension and fines were specifically for, or what GG Jackson actually did. Hopefully, it's nothing serious and they're minor hiccups that won't impede the young potential star from reaching new heights.
