Atlanta Hawks at Boston Celtics Game Day Preview
Preview
Sunday afternoon's game between the Atlanta Hawks and Boston Celtics is a mere formality. Like the last day of school before summer break, everyone wants to wrap up the year without any issues.
Regardless of the outcome of today's regular season finale, Boston has clinched the two-seed, while Atlanta is locked into the eight-seed. In fact, the entire Eastern Conference bracket has been set for well over 24 hours.
It's safe to expect several key players to sit out the game for rest (injury report below), but there is always work to be done. Hawks head coach Quin Snyder is still trying to build a foundation for his new team. Meanwhile, Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla has his own work that needs to be done.
Hoops fans will probably be underwhelmed with the product put on the floor in today's nationally-televised matchup. However, they should not expect the players or coaches to compete any less than usual.
Injury Report
Boston's injury report lists Jayson Tatum (hip), Marcus Smart (neck), and Robert Williams III (knee) as questionable. Additionally, Jaylen Brown (finger), Danilo Gallinari (knee), and Al Horford (back) as out.
Atlanta's injury report lists De’Andre Hunter (left knee soreness) as probable. In addition, Bogdan Bogdanovic (right knee soreness), Clint Capela (right calf tightness), John Collins (low back tightness), Dejounte Murray (left ankle soreness), and Trae Young (right groin soreness) are out.
