Preview

With just over one week remaining in the regular season, the Eastern Conference Playoff picture remains in flux. Despite jumpstarting a rebuild at the trade deadline, the Brooklyn Nets have hung onto the all-important sixth seed.

Meanwhile, the Atlanta Hawks have played .500 ball since their dramatic midseason coaching change. Atlanta currently sits three games behind Brooklyn and is tied with the Toronto Raptors for the eighth seed.

Both teams enter tonight's matchup with a dire need to win. The last time these two teams saw each other, it ended with a Trae Young floater to steal a win at home.

Unfortunately for Atlanta, offense is rarely the problem. Instead, their 22nd-ranked defense will be tested by a dangerous, young team that can fill it up from outside. Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson are capable of leading a team now, even if it's rebuilding the roster.

Hawks fans never know what to expect from their team on a nightly basis. However, it is safe to expect a tightly-contested game between two squads jockeying for postseason positioning.

Injury Report

Brooklyn's injury report lists Day'Ron Sharpe (ankle) as probably, and Ben Simmons (back/knee) as out.

Atlanta's injury report lists De’Andre Hunter (left knee swelling) and Jalen Johnson (mild left hamstring strain; mild left groin strain) as questionable.
