Trae Young and Luka Doncic will always be inextricably linked together after the historic 2018 NBA Draft night trade. Every hoops fan wants to debate the trade, but there is no denying the two generational talents have had eerily similar career paths through five years.

Both the Atlanta Hawks and Dallas Mavericks have had rocky seasons where they have failed to meet expectations. Atlanta has revamped its roster, front office, and coaching staff. Meanwhile, Dallas made a daring trade for Kyrie Irving, and head coach Jason Kidd's seat is red hot.

Yet, with one week remaining in the regular season, both teams are under .500. There is no guarantee that either team will make the playoffs, which was unfathomable at the outset of the season.

Given both teams' wildly inconsistent play, it is challenging to offer much insight into tonight's game. But we can say that both teams desperately need a win to improve their chances of salvaging an overall awful season.

Dallas has not released its official injury report after last night's game in Miami. However, Frank Ntilikina (knee) was out.

Atlanta's injury report lists De’Andre Hunter (bone bruise and muscle strain, left knee) as out.
